Nematicides Market Size, Growth Rate and Forecast to 2034: Drivers, Risks and Regional Shares

The nematicides market is sized at USD 2.05 billion in 2025 and USD 3.55 billion by 2034 at a 6.29% CAGR, with Asia Pacific the largest region and microbial products the fastest line.

Soil nematodes damage crop roots, and nematicides are the chemical and biological products growers use to protect them. The nematicides market starts the forecast period at USD 2.05 billion in 2025. This analysis sets out where the figures stand, what moves them and what could change them.

Market size and growth rate

The market was worth USD 1.52 billion in 2020 and USD 1.94 billion in 2024. It reached USD 2.05 billion in 2025, the base year of the forecast. Growth over that history ran at 6.17% compound, so the series arrives at the forecast period already moving.

The forecast covers 2026 to 2034. It ends at USD 3.55 billion in 2034, at a CAGR of 6.29%. That rate is applied flat across the whole period instead of ramping up or down. The reason is the record behind it: the series has grown every year, and the forecast continues the same trajectory with no turnaround assumed.

Two alternative paths bracket the base case. The downside case ends 2034 at USD 3.07 billion. The upside case ends at USD 4.05 billion. Both start from the same USD 2.05 billion in 2025.

What is driving it

Product type is the axis that explains most of the growth. Microbial Biological Nematicides grows at 12.24% against the market's 6.29%. Its revenue goes from USD 0.307 billion to USD 0.884 billion, and its share of revenue goes from 15% to 24.9%. At the other end of the axis, one line grows at -0.06%. The market's 6.29% depends on the fast end of that spread continuing to pull the average up.

This pattern is not unique to crop protection. In the cannabinoids market, Cannabigerol (CBG) grows at 22.97% against a market rate of 13.59%. In the RNA editing market, CRISPR-based RNA Editing compounds at 21.4% against 19%. In each case the headline rate is a weighted result, and a supplier's own rate depends on how much of its revenue sits in the fast line.

Geography adds a second driver. Asia Pacific is the largest regional base at USD 0.697 billion in 2025, which is 34% of the global total. It reaches USD 1.367 billion by 2034, and its share rises to 38.5%. North America holds 27% at USD 0.553 billion and reaches USD 0.862 billion.

What could slow it

The downside case rests on three assumptions. Biological uptake stalls on variable field performance. Registration delays hold back new active ingredients. Weak crop prices cut grower spending on soil protection. On those assumptions 2034 revenue lands at USD 3.07 billion against the USD 3.55 billion base case.

Fumigants hold the blended rate down. The line carries 36% of 2025 revenue at USD 0.738 billion. It compounds at 4.36% against 6.29% for the market. Its revenue still rises to USD 1.086 billion by 2034, yet its share falls to 30.6%. Because it is the largest line, its pace weighs on the total more than any faster line lifts it. No other single change on the product type axis moves the total as much as demand for fumigants.

Concentration is a second risk. Within Asia Pacific, China accounts for 32.28% of the region. In 2025 that is USD 0.225 billion against the region's USD 0.697 billion, and by 2034 China reaches USD 0.415 billion. Regional risk in the leading region is therefore largely country risk.

The upside case shows what would have to go right. Fumigant restrictions push growers to newer chemistries faster, biological products deliver consistent field results, and treated area expands quickly in Asia Pacific and Latin America. That path ends 2034 at USD 4.05 billion.

Where the growth sits

By region, the 2025 shares are as follows:

  • Asia Pacific: 34%
  • North America: 27%
  • Europe: 17%
  • Latin America: 15%
  • Middle East and Africa: 7%

Asia Pacific leads at 34% of global revenue through 2034. Most of the base and most of the growth sit in Asia Pacific and North America, so a plan spread evenly across regions over-invests outside them.

By product type, the 2025 shares are Fumigants 36%, Organophosphates and Carbamates 28%, Microbial Biological Nematicides 15%, Novel Synthetic Chemistries 14% and Botanical and Natural Extracts 7%. The opening is on this axis. Share moves toward Microbial Biological Nematicides, from 15% in 2025 to 24.9% in 2034. Taking position there does not require displacing whoever holds fumigants, which is the harder and more expensive fight.

The report also segments the market by mode of action, crop type, application method, formulation, target nematode, cultivation system, farming practice, distribution channel and end user. Those cuts let a reader test the product type findings against the crops and methods a given business serves. Full detail is on the nematicides market report page.
