Research approach
A market size is a claim about the world, and a claim is only as good as the route to it. Every study is built upward from units and prices — what is actually produced, sold or performed, at what it actually changes hands for — rather than from a headline figure divided downwards. Disclosed company revenue is then used to check that build, not to produce it.
The estimate is built upward from the installed base of terminal-facing hardware, the flight information display units, control and flight management computers, and passenger-processing consoles that make up each functional category, multiplied by the unit prices and software or maintenance fees typically attached to each. Airport gate counts, terminal square footage and reported capital works schedules anchor the volume side of the build; per-unit pricing for visual display units, control display units and resource-management software licenses anchor the price side. The four stages

What the build rests on, and what checks it
