Market Analysis & Outlook
Agrifiber products are engineered panels, boards and cores manufactured by binding agricultural crop residues, such as straw, husk and bagasse fibers, into structural and decorative building materials, using processes similar to conventional wood-based panel manufacturing. They are purchased by flooring and door manufacturers, furniture and cabinetry producers, and construction contractors seeking a substrate with lower formaldehyde emissions than standard particleboard or MDF.
USD 2.2 billion of revenue was recorded in the global agrifiber products market in 2025. By 2034 the figure reaches USD 3.75 billion, a compound annual growth rate of 6.13% through the forecast period, along a series that runs USD 1.72 billion in 2020, USD 2.08 billion in 2024, USD 2.33 billion in 2026 and USD 2.95 billion in 2030.
The type mix shifts over the period. Flooring is the largest line in 2025 at USD 0.75 billion, a 34.09% share, moving to USD 1.38 billion and 36.8% by 2034. Others grows fastest at 9.05%, taking its share from 8.18% to 10.13%, while Door Cores grows slowest at 4.6%. Share moves toward Flooring and Others and away from Wall Panel & Boards, Door Cores and Veneer, though no line shrinks in revenue terms.
Cut by application, the largest line is Residential: 32.27% of 2025 revenue, worth USD 0.71 billion, and 33.87% at USD 1.27 billion by 2034. Institutional grows faster at 7.29% against 6.68%, moving from 11.82% of revenue to 13.07% by 2034. Both this axis and the type one divide the same revenue, which is why they are alternative views rather than components.
The regional order runs from Asia Pacific at 38.18% of 2025 revenue down to Middle East and Africa at 5%. Asia Pacific is worth USD 0.84 billion in 2025 and USD 1.54 billion in 2034; North America, second at 25.91%, moves from USD 0.57 billion to USD 0.9 billion. Because Asia Pacific, Latin America and Middle East and Africa take share, the revenue added by 2034 concentrates rather than spreading across all five regions.
Behind these figures sit five regions, five type lines and five segmentation axes, each reported for every year from 2020 to 2034. The headline 2025 value is a triangulation of published figures and category proxies rather than a directly sourced total, and the same applies to the segment, regional and country breakdowns drawn from it.

Market Trends
Revenue Share, By By Type
Base year 2025Flooring leads with 34.1% of by type segment revenue.
Share of by type segment revenue, most recent base year.
Three movements define the forecast period in the global agrifiber products market: how the type mix changes, where regional weight shifts, and the rate at which the total compounds.
All three are changes in mix rather than in direction: nothing contracts, and the movement is in which lines and regions absorb the new revenue.
Composition shifts on the type axis. Between 2026 and 2034, 9.05% growth in Others against 4.6% in Door Cores pulls the type mix apart. Shares follow: 8.18% to 10.13% for Others, 15.91% to 14.13% for Door Cores. In absolute terms Others rises from USD 0.18 billion to USD 0.38 billion, while Door Cores rises from USD 0.35 billion to USD 0.53 billion. Both grow; the gap is wide enough to reshape the mix inside a single forecast window.
Asia Pacific, Latin America and Middle East and Africa gain regional share. Asia Pacific moves from 38.18% of revenue in 2025 to 41.07% in 2034, worth USD 0.84 billion rising to USD 1.54 billion; Latin America moves from 6.82% of revenue in 2025 to 6.93% in 2034, worth USD 0.15 billion rising to USD 0.26 billion; Middle East and Africa moves from 5% of revenue in 2025 to 5.07% in 2034, worth USD 0.11 billion rising to USD 0.19 billion. Against that, North America at 25.91% moving to 24%, Europe at 24.09% moving to 22.93%, a fall in share, not in revenue. Revenue added in this market is therefore concentrating geographically rather than spreading evenly, and a participant weighted toward a share-losing region grows more slowly than the market even while its own revenue climbs.
Growth compounds at 6.13% without a step change. Fifteen years of revenue run USD 1.72 billion in 2020, USD 2.08 billion in 2024, USD 2.2 billion in 2025, USD 2.33 billion in 2026, USD 2.95 billion in 2030 and USD 3.75 billion in 2034. No year breaks the trajectory, and the 6.13% forecast rate compares with 5.05% recorded over 2020-2025, a continuation rather than an inflection. The risk in the number sits in the mix assumptions rather than in whether the market grows at all, which is where the type and regional sections come in.
Market Growth Factors
Others carries the market's growth rate
Market Drivers
3- 01Others carries the market's growth rate
The fastest line on the type axis is Others, at 9.05% against the market's 6.13%, taking USD 0.18 billion to USD 0.38 billion and 8.18% of revenue to 10.13%. The market's overall 6.13% depends on that rate holding: at the 4.6% recorded by Door Cores, the same revenue base would compound to a materially smaller 2034 total. A portfolio weighted away from it tracks below the market even in a market growing everywhere.
- 02The two largest regions hold most of the base
38.18% of 2025 revenue (USD 0.84 billion) is generated in Asia Pacific, reaching USD 1.54 billion by 2034, with share rising to 41.07%. North America adds a further 25.91% at USD 0.57 billion, reaching USD 0.9 billion. Between them they hold most of the base and most of the revenue added over the period, so equal-weighting the regions in a plan misstates where the growth is.
- 03A demonstrated trajectory, not a projected turnaround
Revenue rose through USD 1.72 billion in 2020, USD 2.08 billion in 2024 and USD 2.2 billion in 2025, a compound 5.05% across the historical period. From there the forecast carries 6.13% through to USD 3.75 billion in 2034. Fifteen years of unbroken growth in the series means the forecast rests on a demonstrated trajectory rather than a projected turnaround, and it is why the 6.13% rate is applied across the whole period rather than ramped through it.
Growth drivers

Drivers contribute 1.6 Billion and restraints remove 0.05 Billion, a net 1.55 Billion, which is the revenue the market adds between the base year and 2034. Contributions are CDI estimates, apportioned so that they reconcile with the forecast rather than being read from it.
Separate the 6.13% into its parts and three show up: an already-large base compounding, the type mix moving toward its faster lines, and regional growth landing unevenly.
Restraining Factors
What holds the forecast back
Market Restraints
2- 01What holds the forecast back
Adoption of low-formaldehyde substrates slows as synthetic composite panels hold price and durability advantages, and residue supply disruptions in key sourcing regions constrain mill output. On that assumption 2034 revenue lands at USD 3.3 billion rather than the USD 3.75 billion base case, from the same USD 2.2 billion 2025 starting point.
- 02Wall Panel & Boards holds the blended rate down
With 30% of 2025 revenue (USD 0.66 billion) Wall Panel & Boards is where most of the market sits, and it grows at only 5.39% against the market's 6.13%. Revenue still reaches USD 1.05 billion by 2034 and share still falls to 28%: a drag on the average rather than a decline.
Market Opportunities
What the bull case turns on
Market Opportunities
2- 01What the bull case turns on
Green-building codes are adopted faster across major construction markets and Asia Pacific residue-collection infrastructure expands ahead of schedule, letting mills add capacity without feedstock constraints. On that assumption the market reaches USD 4.2 billion by 2034 rather than USD 3.75 billion, from the same USD 2.2 billion in 2025.
- 02The opening is on the type axis, not the regional one
Share on the type axis moves toward Flooring, from 34.09% in 2025 to 36.8% in 2034, on 7.06% growth against the market's 6.13% and revenue rising from USD 0.75 billion to USD 1.38 billion. Taking position there does not require displacing whoever holds Flooring, which is the harder and more expensive fight.
Market Challenges
Concentration on the type axis
Market Challenges
2- 01Concentration on the type axis
USD 0.75 billion of 2025 revenue sits in Flooring, 34.09% of the total, and it is still 36.8% at USD 1.38 billion nine years later. That concentration means the market's own forecast is, to a large extent, a forecast for one type line.
- 02Asia Pacific is largely China
Of Asia Pacific's USD 0.84 billion in 2025, USD 0.34 billion (40.5%) comes from China alone, rising to USD 0.63 billion by 2034. A regional number that depends this heavily on one country carries that country's specific conditions inside it, which a reader treating the region as diversified would miss.
Segmentation Analysis
5 axesfive segmentation axes are reported; by type, by application, raw material, distribution channel and end-use industry. They are alternative readings of one revenue pool, not parts that sum to it.
Five type lines are reported. Two of them take share over the forecast period and the rest give it up, though every line grows in absolute terms between 2025 and 2034.

Scale in Flooring and Growth in Others Define the Type Axis
- Largest Flooring · 34.1%

| Others | $0.18B | 8.2% | $0.38B | 10.1%+2 | 9.1% |
Flooring leads because agrifiber board delivers a stable, dimensionally consistent substrate that specifiers accept for green-certified commercial and residential flooring, and existing panel converters can adapt their lines to it without new capital. Flooring also grows fastest as sustainable-building codes increasingly favor bio-based substrates over conventional particleboard, drawing new capacity toward that segment ahead of wall panels, door cores and veneer. By 2034 Flooring is still ahead, making this a shift in weight rather than a change of leader. Every year of the series is priced on this axis, making it the reference cut for the rest of the report.

| Other | $0.13B | 5.9% | $0.22B | 5.9% | 6% |
Residential leads because agrifiber board is now a standard substrate in furniture and interior fit-out, where builders value its stable machining and paintable surface. Institutional demand grows fastest as schools and public-sector renovation programs adopt low-emission interior materials to meet indoor-air-quality requirements, a pace that industrial and commercial buyers, tied to slower-moving project cycles, have not yet matched. By 2034 Residential is still ahead, making this a shift in weight rather than a change of leader.

| Others | $0.35B | 15.9% | $0.56B | 14.9%-1 | 5.4% |
Wheat straw leads because it is the most widely collected agricultural residue in the regions with established board-manufacturing capacity, giving mills a dependable, low-cost feedstock. Bagasse grows fastest as sugar-processing regions in Asia Pacific and Latin America expand residue-collection infrastructure, turning a by-product that was previously burned or discarded into a marketable input for board producers. Wheat Straw remains the largest line through 2034, so the axis changes in proportion rather than in order.

| Retail | $0.29B | 13.2% | $0.52B | 13.9%+0.7 | 6.7% |
Direct and B2B sales lead because construction and furniture manufacturers buy agrifiber board in volume directly from mills to match project specifications and lead times. Distributors and wholesalers grow fastest as smaller regional fabricators, who lack the order size to buy direct, increasingly source through intermediaries that can blend material from multiple mills to meet local demand. Direct/B2B remains the largest line through 2034, so the axis changes in proportion rather than in order.

| Others | $0.11B | 5% | $0.19B | 5.1%+0.1 | 6.3% |
Building and construction leads because agrifiber board substitutes directly for conventional panel products in flooring, wall systems and door cores, categories where construction spending sets the pace of demand. Packaging grows fastest as brand owners move away from plastic-based cushioning and void-fill toward compostable, agriculture-derived alternatives, a shift that furniture and automotive interior applications are adopting more gradually. The order does not change: Building & Construction is still largest in 2034, and what moves is how much it holds.

Agrifiber-based panels sold in the United States are treated as composite wood products under the Environmental Protection Agency's Toxic Substances Control Act framework, which sets formaldehyde emission limits for panels bonded with resin and requires manufacturers to obtain third-party certification confirming compliance before products enter commerce. Suppliers must label panels to show certified compliance and maintain records tracing each production lot for regulatory audit. Products used in construction must additionally meet building-code-referenced material standards published by recognized voluntary consensus bodies, and importers bear responsibility for confirming that foreign-sourced agrifiber board carries valid certification before distribution into the domestic market.

In Germany, agrifiber panels intended for construction fall under the European Union's Construction Products Regulation, which requires a declaration of performance and CE marking before a product can be placed on the market, alongside conformity with harmonised standards covering wood-based and fibre-based panel products. Chemical content, including formaldehyde release, is additionally controlled under the EU's REACH framework. Where a panel type falls outside existing harmonised standards, manufacturers may instead need national technical approval issued by the Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik. Suppliers are responsible for accurate labelling, technical documentation, and ongoing conformity assessment to keep pace with any standard revision.
The suppliers tracked in this study (ASSA ABLOY, Masonite, Chappell Door Company, Agriboard International, TorZo, Surfaces, Sind Particle Board Mills, Sierra Pine Ltd., Kirei USA, Duratex S.A. and Isoboard (Pty) Ltd) compete in Germany across the type lines above. Demand in China follows the type mix reported at global level: Flooring is the largest line at 34.09% of 2025 revenue, moving to 36.8% by 2034, while Others grows fastest at 9.05% and takes its share from 8.18% to 10.13%. Its 40.5% weight in Asia Pacific means those movements carry straight into the regional totals. The full report reports China by type separately.
Agrifiber panels manufactured or sold in China are governed by the national standards system administered under the State Administration for Market Regulation, which sets mandatory limits on formaldehyde emission and structural performance for wood-substitute and fibre-based board products. Conformity to the applicable national standard must be demonstrated through testing before a product can be labelled and marketed, and factories are subject to periodic inspection to confirm ongoing compliance. Provincial market regulators enforce labelling accuracy and can withdraw non-conforming batches from sale. Exporters supplying agrifiber board into China must route products through accredited local testing laboratories to obtain the required conformity documentation.
In China the field is ASSA ABLOY, Masonite, Chappell Door Company, Agriboard International, TorZo, Surfaces, Sind Particle Board Mills, Sierra Pine Ltd., Kirei USA, Duratex S.A. and Isoboard (Pty) Ltd. Flooring, at 34.09% of 2025 revenue, is where the volume sits, and Others, growing at 9.05%, is where position changes hands over the forecast period.
India

- In region 2 of 2
- Of region 22.6%
- Of global 8.6%
- Revenue $0.19B → $0.37B
8.6% of global revenue is generated in India; USD 0.19 billion in 2025, reaching USD 0.37 billion in 2034, and 22.6% of Asia Pacific.
Latin America Market Analysis
The 4th-largest region covered — it picks up 0.1 points of share by 2034, while revenue still grows 1.7×.
- Rank 4 of 5
- 2025 share 6.8%
- By 2034 6.9%
- Revenue $0.15B → $0.26B
In Latin America, 6.82% of global revenue puts 2025 at USD 0.15 billion on the way to USD 0.26 billion by 2034. By revenue it sits fourth across the study, and the ranking does not change between 2025 and 2034.
Its share rises to 6.93% over the forecast period, because it outgrows the market's 6.13%; the revenue added here is disproportionate to where the region started.
Within the region the type split tracks the global one; 34.09% of 2025 revenue in Flooring, fastest growth of 9.05% in Others. Revenue for Latin America is broken out by every segmentation axis and by country in the full report.
Brazil
Sets the pace for Latin America at 60% of it, growing 1.8×.
- In region 1 of 2
- Of region 60%
- Of global 4.1%
- Revenue $0.09B → $0.16B
The largest single market in Latin America is Brazil, at USD 0.09 billion in 2025 and USD 0.16 billion in 2034. Because it is 60% of the region in the base year, Latin America's totals move with this one country rather than with a spread of them. The region itself runs USD 0.15 billion to USD 0.26 billion over the same period, and this is the market carrying the country-level detail in the full report.
Demand in Brazil follows the type mix reported at global level: Flooring is the largest line at 34.09% of 2025 revenue, moving to 36.8% by 2034, while Others grows fastest at 9.05% and takes its share from 8.18% to 10.13%. With 60% of Latin America concentrated here, a change in this country's mix is visible in the regional figures instead of being diluted by its neighbours. Per-type revenue for Brazil appears on its own in the full report.
In Brazil, agrifiber-based panels are subject to technical standards published by the Associação Brasileira de Normas Técnicas, covering dimensional tolerance, mechanical performance, and formaldehyde emission for wood-substitute board. Conformity assessment and certification are overseen by the Instituto Nacional de Metrologia, Qualidade e Tecnologia, which can require certified products to carry its compliance mark before sale into construction or furniture supply chains. Suppliers must maintain documentation demonstrating that production batches meet the referenced standard and are subject to periodic surveillance testing by accredited bodies. Imported agrifiber board is expected to meet the same certification route as domestically produced panels before customs release.
ASSA ABLOY, Masonite, Chappell Door Company, Agriboard International, TorZo, Surfaces, Sind Particle Board Mills, Sierra Pine Ltd., Kirei USA, Duratex S.A. and Isoboard (Pty) Ltd are the suppliers covered in Brazil. Two different problems sit on the same axis: holding Flooring at 34.09% of 2025 revenue, and taking Others while it grows at 9.05%.
Mexico
2nd-largest in Latin America, growing 1.8×.
- In region 2 of 2
- Of region 26.7%
- Of global 1.8%
- Revenue $0.04B → $0.07B
Mexico is sized at USD 0.04 billion in 2025, rising to USD 0.07 billion by 2034; 1.8% of global revenue and 26.7% of Latin America. It is reported separately from Brazil across every segmentation axis in the full report.
Middle East and Africa Market Analysis
The 5th-largest region covered — it picks up 0.1 points of share by 2034, while revenue still grows 1.7×.
- Rank 5 of 5
- 2025 share 5%
- By 2034 5.1%
- Revenue $0.11B → $0.19B
USD 0.11 billion of 2025 revenue is generated in Middle East and Africa, 5% of the global agrifiber products market and reaches USD 0.19 billion by 2034. By revenue it sits fifth across the study, and the ranking does not change between 2025 and 2034.
Its share rises to 5.07% over the forecast period, because it outgrows the market's 6.13%; the revenue added here is disproportionate to where the region started.
The type mix reported at global level applies here, with Flooring the largest line at 34.09% of 2025 revenue and Others the fastest-growing at 9.05%. Middle East and Africa is reported axis by axis and country by country in the full study.
South Africa
The largest market in Middle East and Africa, growing 1.6×.
- In region 1 of 2
- Of region 45.5%
- Of global 2.3%
- Revenue $0.05B → $0.08B
USD 0.05 billion of Middle East and Africa's 2025 revenue is generated in South Africa, the region's largest market, reaching USD 0.08 billion by 2034. 45.5% of the region in the base year makes it the largest market here without making it the region. Against regional totals of USD 0.11 billion in 2025 and USD 0.19 billion in 2034, it is the country the full report breaks out in detail.
Composition here matches the global split: the largest line is Flooring at 34.09% of 2025 revenue, easing to 36.8% by 2034, and the fastest is Others at 9.05%, from 8.18% to 10.13%. Because the country carries 45.5% of Middle East and Africa, a movement in its own mix shows up in the regional totals rather than being averaged away by neighbouring markets. Per-type revenue for South Africa appears on its own in the full report.
Agrifiber board sold in South Africa falls within the technical standards maintained by the South African Bureau of Standards, covering performance and formaldehyde emission for fibre-based and particle-based panel products used in construction and furniture. Where a compulsory specification applies to a given panel category, the National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications requires suppliers to hold a valid letter of authority before the product can be sold, imported, or advertised. Suppliers must label panels to identify the applicable standard and grade, and are subject to market surveillance and product testing to confirm ongoing conformity. Non-compliant batches can be withdrawn from sale by the regulator.
In South Africa the field is ASSA ABLOY, Masonite, Chappell Door Company, Agriboard International, TorZo, Surfaces, Sind Particle Board Mills, Sierra Pine Ltd., Kirei USA, Duratex S.A. and Isoboard (Pty) Ltd. The commercially relevant division is 34.09% of 2025 revenue in Flooring, where the volume is, against 9.05% growth in Others, where share moves.
Saudi Arabia
2nd-largest in Middle East and Africa, growing 2.0×.
- In region 2 of 2
- Of region 27.3%
- Of global 1.4%
- Revenue $0.03B → $0.06B
Saudi Arabia is sized at USD 0.03 billion in 2025, rising to USD 0.06 billion by 2034; 1.4% of global revenue and 27.3% of Middle East and Africa. It is reported separately from South Africa across every segmentation axis in the full report.

Competitive Landscape
Position on the Type Axis Decides Competitive Standing
The field covered here is ASSA ABLOY, Masonite, Chappell Door Company, Agriboard International, TorZo, Surfaces, Sind Particle Board Mills, Sierra Pine Ltd., Kirei USA, Duratex S.A. and Isoboard (Pty) Ltd.
The type axis, not the regional one, is where competition happens. Flooring is 34.09% of 2025 revenue at USD 0.75 billion and still 36.8% in 2034, so it is where the volume sits and where an incumbent's position is hardest to move. The line that changes hands is Others at 9.05%, well ahead of Door Cores at 4.6%. A supplier positioned in one is not automatically positioned in the other, which is what keeps a field of this size viable in a market of USD 2.2 billion.
Competitive position in agrifiber products depends on manufacturing scale and reliable access to agricultural residue feedstock, since board quality and cost both track directly on fiber supply consistency. The larger producers compete on distribution reach and brand recognition with architects, contractors and furniture manufacturers, backed by established regulatory and certification experience that shortens specification cycles. Smaller and regional producers compete instead on local feedstock sourcing, price, and the ability to meet regional building codes and residue-availability patterns that larger multinational suppliers are slower to adapt to. Door-core and flooring specialists differentiate further through dimensional consistency and moisture performance.
Presence matters unevenly by region. With 38.18% of 2025 revenue in Asia Pacific and 25.91% in North America, a supplier's coverage of those two decides most of its addressable base before any product question arises.

Research approach
A market size is a claim about the world, and a claim is only as good as the route to it. Every study is built upward from units and prices — what is actually produced, sold or performed, at what it actually changes hands for — rather than from a headline figure divided downwards. Disclosed company revenue is then used to check that build, not to produce it.
The four stages
The same sequence runs behind every published study, whatever the industry. The order matters as much as the steps: the segment axes are fixed before any number is collected, so the model is never reshaped to fit whatever data happens to turn up.
What the build rests on, and what checks it
The two are not interchangeable. The left column produces the number; the right column tests it. When the check disagrees with the build, the answer is to find which bottom-up assumption is wrong — a unit count, a price, a take-up rate — not to split the difference between them.
- Volume actually transacted — units produced, installed, dispensed or procedures performed, counted at the level each is genuinely recorded
- Realised pricing by tier and channel, rather than one blended average applied across the whole market
- Take-up and frequency: how much of the addressable base buys, and how often it repeats
- Disclosed revenue of the companies serving the market, where filings separate it far enough to be usable
- Buyer-side spending totals — capital budgets, procurement lines, or the output of the end market the product is bought against
- Trade and customs flows, where the product crosses borders in a separately recorded form
Data sources
Published data establishes what happened. Only the people transacting in a market can say why, and what is about to change — so the two are collected separately and weighted differently.
- Commercial and product leadership at the companies that supply the market
- Procurement and specification leads at the organisations that buy it
- Distributors, integrators and channel partners, where the market is served indirectly
- Regulatory and standards specialists, where approval governs what can be sold at all
- Company filings, annual reports and investor disclosure
- Government statistics, customs records and regulatory registers
- Trade association output and standards-body publications
- Technical and peer-reviewed literature, where the market rests on a clinical or engineering claim
Primary research targeted procurement and product-specification managers at furniture, flooring and door manufacturers, production and sourcing heads at board-manufacturing mills, and regulatory or certification specialists familiar with low-emission building-material standards. Distribution and channel partners serving regional fabricators were also included to understand how material reaches smaller buyers outside direct mill relationships. Sampling emphasized Asia Pacific, where residue supply and manufacturing capacity are concentrated, alongside North America and Europe, where regulatory and green-building certification requirements most directly shape purchasing decisions. Findings from these conversations were used to validate production-volume and expenditure assumptions across regions rather than to generate standalone estimates.
Desk research runs across proprietary research databases including Factiva, OneSource and Hoovers alongside the public sources above. Modelling and statistical validation are run in SAS and SPSS.
Triangulation and validation
No figure enters a report on the strength of one source. Where the two sizing routes disagree the difference is not averaged away — the assumption causing it is isolated, tested against a third independent measure, and either corrected or carried forward as a stated limitation. Historical years are back-tested against the growth actually recorded before any forecast is allowed to run forward from them.
Every report purchase includes direct access to the lead analyst for scoping questions on the data, at no extra cost and with no separate booking process.
