Asset Tokenization Market Size, Growth Rate, Drivers and Regional Outlook to 2034

Asset tokenization is forecast to reach USD 63 billion by 2034 at a 28.45% CAGR; this analysis covers the drivers, the downside case, and where regional and segment growth sits.

Tokenization turns ownership of an asset into a digital record that can be issued, held and transferred on a blockchain. The commercial question is how fast that record replaces the paper and ledger systems it sits beside. The asset tokenization market gives a measured answer, and this article sets out what the data says.

Market size and growth rate

The market was worth USD 6.1 billion in 2025, the base year. The forecast runs from 2026 to 2034 and ends at USD 63 billion, a CAGR of 28.45%.

The history is steep as well. Revenue was USD 0.5 billion in 2020 and USD 3.8 billion in 2024, before reaching USD 6.1 billion in 2025. That is 64.9% compound growth before the forecast period begins. The forecast rate of 28.45% is lower than the rate already recorded, so the study does not assume the early pace continues.

The study also sets out two alternative paths from the same 2025 base. The downside case ends 2034 at USD 45.5 billion. The upside case ends at USD 76 billion. The base case of USD 63 billion sits between them.

What is driving it

Three findings in the data explain the growth.

The first is the trend itself. Fifteen years of record, counting history and forecast together, point the same direction. What remains uncertain is the mix of assets and regions, not the direction of travel.

The second is concentration of growth in a few lines. The headline 28.45% is a weighted result. No single segment grows at exactly that rate, and the spread between segments is wide.

  • Art and Collectibles grows at 32.2%, from USD 0.366 billion in 2025 to USD 4.914 billion in 2034.
  • Its share of revenue on the asset type axis moves from 6% to 7.8%.
  • Real Estate, by contrast, grows at 21.8%.

A portfolio weighted away from the fastest line tracks below the market even when every segment is growing.

The third is the scale of the leading asset class. Financial Assets holds 38% of revenue in 2025 and 47% in 2034, worth USD 2.318 billion and USD 29.61 billion. Demand for that one line sets the direction of the whole headline number.

Tokenization is also one technology line inside wider digital spending. In the GCC digital transformation market, Blockchain carries 2.14% of technology revenue, the smallest share on that axis. Tokenization is a young use of the technology in that wider context.

What could slow it

The restraint is stated in the downside case. The study assumes three things go wrong together:

  • cross-border rules diverge further;
  • a custody or smart contract failure slows institutional adoption;
  • secondary markets stay thin, so holders cannot exit positions.

On those assumptions the market ends 2034 at USD 45.5 billion against USD 63 billion in the base case, from the same USD 6.1 billion base year. The forecast period is slower, and the starting point is unchanged.

The bull case turns on the opposite events. Major banks and asset managers move large parts of fund and bond issuance on chain, and settlement rules in the main jurisdictions recognize tokenized securities as equivalent to conventional ones. On that assumption the market reaches USD 76 billion by 2034.

Two structural drags sit inside the base case as well.

Real Estate holds 24% of 2025 revenue, or USD 1.464 billion, and grows at 21.8% against the market's 28.45%. Revenue still reaches USD 9.45 billion by 2034, but its share falls to 15%. That is a drag on the average, not a decline.

The second drag is concentration. Anything that changes demand for Financial Assets changes the headline number, and nothing else on the axis carries that weight.

Where the growth sits

North America leads, with 38% of 2025 revenue, or USD 2.318 billion. Its revenue reaches USD 19.404 billion by 2034. The United States generates USD 2 billion of the region's USD 2.318 billion in 2025, which is 86.3% of the region, and reaches USD 17.2 billion by 2034. Regional risk in North America is largely country risk.

Europe holds 28%, with USD 1.708 billion rising to USD 16.38 billion. Asia Pacific holds 22%, the Middle East and Africa 7%, and Latin America 5%. Because existing revenue and added revenue both concentrate in North America and Europe, regional weighting matters more to a forecast than the count of regions covered.

North America's lead is not unusual among software and technology markets. It holds 38% in the human resource technology market and 38% in the value stream management market. What differs here is the pace: this market is forecast at 28.45%, while those two are forecast at 8.9% and 12%.

On the asset type axis, the 2025 shares are:

  • Financial Assets, 38%
  • Real Estate, 24%
  • Commodities, 10%
  • Private Equity and Venture Capital, 8%
  • Infrastructure and Carbon Assets, 8%
  • Art and Collectibles, 6%
  • Intellectual Property and Receivables, 6%

Share moves toward Art and Collectibles over the forecast. Taking a position there does not require displacing whoever holds Financial Assets, which is the more expensive contest.

The report also segments the market by offering, blockchain type, token standard, token type, deployment mode, enterprise size, application, regulatory framework, investor type and end user. The full segmentation, the scenario paths and the regional tables are in the asset tokenization market report.
